First new album in fifteen years.
Can’t wait to hear it live in Central Park (September 14th!)

Saw Rufus Wainwright in concert at the Brooklyn Academy of Music earlier this month. I put Rufus in the same category as Ben Folds. Both are incredible singer-songwriters, pianists and stage performers. Rufus can go from a state of bouncing-off-the-walls energy, shimmying around in a pair of gold pants and all, to a deep, dark place of longing and vulnerability. You get it all from him onstage, and few people sound as good as he does live.

Irene and Francis Jacob
Saw this brother-sister duo perform at the Alliance Francaise on 4/23 to an intimate francophone crowd. She’s a French actress with a pristine voice; he’s a soulful guitarist. They played songs from their upcoming album Je Sais Nager accompanied by a gifted group of musicians, including a seriously talented triangle player. It was a night in Paris on the Upper East Side, and a perfect birthday gift for yours truly.
